Half Lamb – Grass-Fed, Local, Farm-Raised

Our lamb comes from neighboring farms we know and trust. The animals are 100% grass-fed, raised outdoors, and slaughtered locally with care. This is real lamb — seasonal, traceable, and processed properly.

We sell half-lamb orders only. This keeps things ecologically fair, pushes cost, supports local farmers, it’s transparent, and avoids cherry-picking cuts.

What you get (per half lamb)

Each half lamb is broken down into the following cuts (all vacuum packed):

  • Leg

  • Shoulder

  • Whole ribs

  • Lamb belly meat

  • Shanks

  • Chops

  • Neck

Additionally:

  • One half may include the tail

  • One half may include both kidneys

Cuts are practical and versatile — ideal for slow cooking, roasting, grilling, and stock.

Taste & seasonality

  • Early spring: young rams — very mild, clean flavour

  • Later in the season: ewes — still mild, with a bit more depth

If you prefer a stronger, more pronounced lamb flavour, we can source older rams on request. Please indicate this when ordering.

How much freezer space do I need?

A half lamb weighs approximately 10 kg of meat.

This fits neatly into:

  • One standard freezer drawer, or

  • About 18–22 litres of freezer volume, depending on packaging

If you have a small household freezer, space is usually not an issue.

Ordering & payment

  • Online payment is a deposit only, used to secure your order

  • Once you place an order, you are added to our list

  • You will receive a notification with your confirmed pickup date

  • The remaining balance is paid on pickup

Pickup

  • Pickup is always on the first Saturday of the month

  • Freshly butchered and ready for collection
